The Evolution of the Computer

During the recent years, there has been a surge in consumer electronics industry. Several advancements in this field have moved forward enormously to keep up with the highly competitive market and the rapidly evolving needs of the industry. One aspect in the consumer electronics industry which evolved greatly is the computer market.

It was during the 1940s when the first modern computer was developed. It had the size of a large room and consumed a lot of power. Today, the computer has evolved into something which could be fitted in other tiny devices such as a wristwatch, and even in toys, and can be powered by a small battery.

The use of the computer has also continually evolved and progressed, especially in recent times. When it was invented, the computer was primarily a data storage device. Now, computer programs are used to launch a rocket into space. Even traffic light signals at streets follow computer commands to control its cycle of colours.

The evolution of the computer has not stopped yet. It will continually progress at heights which will surprise us.
